Services for David L. Fayman, 79, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. He was cremated.

Mr. Fayman died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Lester and Ruth Johnson Glover. He was adopted by his stepfather, Lynn Gray Fayman. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School in 1943 and earned a degree in physics from University of California in Santa Barbara. He also pursued a graduate degree in electrical engineering at Kansas University.

Mr. Fayman owned and operated electronics manufacturing firms while he lived in Lawrence. He taught several classes at Kansas University.

He married Jody Hise in 1945 in Kansas City Mo. They divorced. He married Sarah Carey on March 19, 1978, in Manhattan. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Johnson and Logan, both of Lawrence; two daughters, Karen Fayman Leiker, Spring, Texas, and Janet Fayman Kernes, Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Faith Strong, Laguna Beach, Calif.; two stepbrothers, Corey and Bruce, both of San Diego; a stepmother, Danah Fayman, San Diego; and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Cardiac Rehabilitation Service at Lawrence Memorial Hospital or Nature Conservatory, sent in care of the funeral home.
